I’d have loved to have danced but my leg condition prohibits dancing.
I danced in my mind. I look forward to reading anything you write. I have two of your books -with or without God- it’s how we treat people that counts and AMEN. OUTSTANDING. It was of particular interest to me. I am the granddaughter, daughter in law, wife of a UMC pastor, my daughter is a pastor, my son in law is also a pastor. All seminary trained. However I have a fair amount of confidence in my brain. Having read almost all of Bishop Spongs books, your books I have reached a place in my life my understanding of the Bible, God, and others I am in a different place from my pastor relatives. We all agree on the fundamentals as written in the Scripture but we differ in our language as to how we describe many things. Much too much to write here. I not happy with the traditional liturgy, with the traditional language which I don’t think they believe it as it’s written but they continue to read it each Sunday followed by the traditional “this is this is the word of God for the people of God”.
Anyway your writing reaffirmed much of what I’d come with on my own. We all live very intentional loving lives treating people as we wish to be treated. ( most if the time) I’m so fortunate to have the family I have. Again thank you for your thoughts and writing . Virginia Burnette. 89 yr old 3 rd generation UMC.
Yay, oh yay!!! What happy news. My old, old legs did a little Irish-Scotch jig. Thank you for a good news piece today.
Perfect response!! A jig!!
This is hopeful. Thank you for continuing to write and post for the rest of us. Love.
Yes, but I want to know if you danced! 😉
Thx for this! Hopeful, indeed.
Yep! this is all good news. Love it!
So love this! Thank you for posting, Gretta.
